ARCHIVE - PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE >> Back to President's Message
January 2012
Well, here we are nearing the end of another year with Christmas just around the corner. The Wing has done very well this year and we are just finishing up a very busy 4th quarter. Our activities and events program continues to keep our financial position stable.
Meantime, we are not without our challenges. To keep this kind of program moving requires a constant demand on our volunteers and Jeanne and Clayton. Thankfully, we are blessed with a core of hard working members who don't hesitate to roll up their sleeves and get the work done. As we start the New Year, these challenges will only grow.
Our events schedule must continue and will need some review to ensure we present a successful program. This may require new approaches to our planning, with a view to offering different events that will not only increase participation, but also bring in good returns. We must also pursue our building refurbishment project as soon as the weather permits, and continue to pursue new membership.
We need your feedback!
Our 515 Air Cadet Squadron is continuing to grow and thrive, with the drive and hard work of a dedicated young Commanding Officer and our liaison support. This is gratifying, given the dangerously low strength of the Squadron some years back. Our youth needs the kinds of development offered through the Air Cadet Movement and we are all proud to see our Squadron play an important role in its continued success. This is not an easy task in today's complicated and challenging environment.
Meantime, I'm sure most of us will agree, our Wing continues to offer us a great place to find special friendships and camaraderie. Just to see our members enjoy an evening of Darts or other events, like even our Bridge and Auction afternoons, shows a level of fun and interaction that you don't always find in other venues.
Thank you to all our hardworking volunteers that made 2011 so successful. Also, a special thank you again to our great team, Jeanne and Clayton, whose dedication and hard work goes many times beyond the call of duty.
Bill and I wish you all a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, and a healthy and happy New Year.
PER ARDUA AD ASTRA
Liz
